Es uno de los templos de mayor entidad de la provincia. DespuĆ©s de 500 aƱos de historia, la Parroquia Virgitana Ha ido creciendo, desde la iglesia mĆ”s antigua (realizada sobre una mezquita Ć”rabe), Hasta el templo que arruinĆ³ el terremoto de 1.804, que obligĆ³ a realizar una nueva edificaciĆ³n, esta vez al amparo de la bonanza econĆ³mica que aportĆ³ la minerĆa

It is one of the temples of greater importance in the province. After 500 years of history, Virgitana parish has grown, from the oldest church (performed on an Arab mosque) to the ruined temple of 1,804 earthquake, which forced a new building, this time under the economic boom brought mining.
